Tagalong

Privacy policy

Effective 27 October 2026. Tagalong is a Chrome extension from Pixel75. It is a tag injector for QA: it loads a tag manager container you choose onto sites you choose.

What Tagalong stores

Tagalong saves your setup in Chrome’s sync storage on your browser. That includes container IDs, the sites you attach to each container, whether Tagalong and each container are on or off, and the advanced options you set.

If Chrome Sync is turned on for extensions, Chrome may sync that setup to your account under Chrome’s own terms. Tagalong does not run a server that receives this setup.

For the tab you are viewing, Tagalong keeps a short note of whether injection ran, and the error text if it failed. That note stays in session storage and is removed when the tab closes. It is not synced.

What leaves the browser

Tagalong does not include analytics or telemetry. It does not read your browsing history, sell information, or send your container list to Pixel75.

The extension’s own network requests load the container you configured: the standard loader at www.googletagmanager.com/gtm.js, or a loader URL you enter. After that script runs, the container behaves according to how you built it in your tag manager. Those later requests are made by the container, under your tag manager account.

Site access

Tagalong does not ask for access to every site when you install it. Access is requested when you save a site or click Grant access, and only for that site and its subdomains. Access for a site is removed when no saved container still uses it.

Tagalong does not inject on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, or files that end in .pdf.

Pages Tagalong opens

These open only in the cases below. Each address includes campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) so Pixel75 can see which Tagalong link was used. They do not include your container IDs, the page you were testing, or an account identifier.

  • The first time you install Tagalong, Chrome opens pixel75.com/tools/tagalong.
  • If you remove Tagalong, Chrome opens pixel75.com/tools/tagalong/feedback.
  • Help, the Pixel75 footer credit, and “Still stuck? Get a tracking audit from Pixel75” open when you click them.

A visit to pixel75.com is a normal page load. This website has its own practices, separate from the extension.
